Description

The PLAaY Spring Conference is dedicated to providing meaningful professional development opportunities for our summer camp staff (both full-time and seasonal counselors) that is both fun and engaging! This conference provides 4 hours of training that qualifies towards licensing and has sessions with topics such as Professional Development & Leadership, Teaching Practices, Guidance/Behavior Management, Health, Safety & Nutrition! 

Theme: Build Together, PLAaY Together!

Date: Saturday, May 17th 

Location: Windsor Community Recreation Center (250 11th St. Windsor, CO 80550)

Deadline to register is Wednesday, May 14th at 12pm!

Check-In (8:00am-8:30am)

Opening Session (8:30-9:30am)

  • Silly Sounds, Serious Impact: The Power of PLAaY in Leadership by Boredom Fighters!

Breakout Sessions #1 (9:40am-10:40am)

  • Silly Sounds, Serious Impact: How to Integrate Music Education into Your Programs by Boredom Fighters! This session is intended for full-time staff members who have decision making power within their organization
  • Behavior Management for Summer Camps – Katie Just, City of Fort Collins
  • 10 Lessons for Summer Success! – Mark Snow, City of Colorado Springs
  • Licensing 101 – Do You Know Your Stuff – Kelly Dubois, City of Fort Collins

Break (10:40am-11:00am)

Breakout Sessions #2 (11:00am-12:00pm)

  • Director’s Round Table - This session is intended for coordinators, directors & assistant directors
  • Partners in Prevention: Elevating Water Safety at Camp – Cheyenne Clune, Town of Berhoud
  • Behavior Management for Summer Camps – Katie Just, City of Fort Collins
  • Game On! Camp Classics & Fresh Favorites – Town of Windsor

Battle of the Camps (12:10pm-1:15pm)


Pricing

  • CPRA Members - $55/person or $45/person for groups of 10 or more
  • Non-Members - $65/person or $55/person for groups of 10 or more

Breakfast items and snacks will be provided. This event does not include lunch as it ends around 1:00pm, however, attendees are welcome to bring a lunch, if they'd like!
