Directors Section Summer Meetup & Education Event

Description

The Pueblo County Directors team has planned an fun & educational summer meetup in Pueblo! This event is powered by the CPRA Directors Section but all are welcome to attend! 

Sessions will be presented by Chris Nunes on Friday, August 1st at the County EOC, which will be focused on organizational and workforce challenges, financial management, infrastructure/maintenance challenges,  and planning and policy development. Come ready to discuss and share what is working at your agency  

This day will also include lunch sponsored by Rec Technologies and a variety of tour options in the afternoon. 

For those arriving the day before on Thursday, July 31st, the group will meetup at 4:00pm at the Riverwalk River Boat with refreshments sponsored by the Colorado Lottery. Dinner will follow at Brues Alehouse Brewing Company.

Schedule:

Thursday, July 31st

• 9am-12pm: Morning Bike Ride from the Dam to Confluence Park. 
• 1pm-4pm: Tours starts in front of City Hall Parking lot (115 E. Riverwalk) and will end at a block east at the Historical Arkansas Riverwalk (125 Riverwalk Place)
  • Option one- Pueblo Mountain Park and RTAP Program, HARP
  • Option two- Mineral Palace Park, Greenhouses, Slabs, Mineral Palace Park,  HARP
• 4:30pm: Cocktails on the Riverwalk River Boat sponsored by the CO Lottery starting from 125 E Riverwalk & ending at 120 E. Riverwalk
• 6:00pm: Dinner at Brues Alehouse at 120 E. Riverwalk 

Friday, August 1st           

• 8am-1pm at Pueblo County Emergency Service Building (101 W. 10th Street)
  • 4 round tables discussions with Chris Nunes facilitating on Colorado Directors
  • Topics include Maintenance and Infrastructure, Funding and Budget Constraints
• 1:30pm - Lunch catered by Café Murillo at Board of Water Works Park (1 Waterworks Place) sponsored by Rec Technologies
• Following lunch from approx. 2pm-5pm - Tours of City Park, Nature Center, Honor Farm and Medal of Honor.

Lodging:

A hotel room block is available at the Courtyard by Marriott Pueblo Downtown at rate of $139 plus tax. Room block reservation cutoff is July 10th.
