Session 1 - Fitness Innovation: Keeping It Fresh & Fun with Shanna Cullen
0.15 credits AFAA/NASM
Calling all fitness pros—group instructors, personal trainers, and everyone in between. Bring your creativity and leave with plug-and-play partner drills, team-based activities, and connection-first coaching strategies that turn classes and training sessions into communities. Explore how to remix trending ideas from social platforms into safe, scalable progressions you can use immediately, paired with engagement games and cueing tools that make movement memorable. Fitness is more than a workout—it’s an experience. Come spark joy, build belonging, and keep your classes fresh, fun, and full.
About the instructor:
Shanna Shanna Cullen is a NASM Certified Personal Trainer (CPT), Behavioral Change Specialist (BCS), Integrated Balance Trainer (IBT), and Stretch & Flexibility Coach (SFC). She holds additional credentials in HIIT Training, Programming for Menopause and Beyond, and Bungee Fitness. She trains one-on-one at the City of Lafayette Bob Burger Recreation Center and leads highly popular small-group programs including Wall Pilates, Bungee Fitness, Spicy Circuits, HardCore Core, 5K/10K/Half-Marathon courses, and Family Fit classes.
Session 2 - Chair Fitness Revamped with Lexi Bulich
Turn a simple chair into a mini dance floor as we blend interactive lecture with guided practice to explore how rhythm, expression, and connection elevate seated movement. This is not your typical chair class—here, we move the whole body as if the seat is our floor and our sit bones are our feet, bringing back the joy of dancing for those who’ve been told they can no longer move the way they used to. You’ll learn musicality-driven combinations, accessible progressions, and community-building cueing for a true head-to-toe experience. We wrap up with a guided segment inspired by LaBlast® Chair Fitness.
Since 2021, Lexi Bulich has led the City of Lafayette’s fitness programming, reshaping it through innovative, community-centered, people-first initiatives. Prior to joining the City, Lexi Bulich spent 12 years as Regional Fitness Manager for Colorado Athletic Clubs, specializing in program leadership and instructor development. In 2022, Lexi Bulich was named CPRA Fitness Professional of the Year; in 2023, Lexi Bulich earned the City of Lafayette Innovation Core Value Award. A Certified Parks & Recreation Professional (CPRP) with multiple fitness credentials, Lexi Bulich teaches across numerous formats and serves as a Master Trainer for LaBlast® Fitness.
